Volunteers helping in schools

Do you help in your local primary school, or would you like to? Would you like to know more about how children learn and how you can help them?

In partnership with WEA, we’re running an exciting course for those who volunteer in a primary school for at least two hours each week. The course is designed to meet the needs of volunteer helpers in school, people who are not paid for their role as classroom assistants. However, many participants are successful in gaining employment in schools after the course. Volunteering can lead to employment. There will also be an opportunity on the course to gain a Level 2 Award – Support Work in Schools (TDA Recognised). This may be of interest to those who want to pursue a career working with children as this is a recognised qualification.
