A message from the Head of School…
This week the children have been learning about Chinese New Year. The early years children have been busy tasting Chinese food and learning how to use chop sticks. It was very messy but the children had lots of fun! Please see our Facebook page for pictures.

Internet Safety Day took place on Tuesday 5th February. Internet Safety Day is celebrated globally each year to promote the safe and positive use of digital technology for children and inspire a national conversation. The internet is a wonderful tool to use but there are also risks if not used appropriately. At Haxby Road Academy we learn about the importance of online safety. Social communication on line plays a big part in all our lives, including young people. Please see the links below on how this important subject is being discussed in school and how you can be

Early Years Welcome Lunch


If you have a child in Tiny Steps, Nursery or Reception please come and enjoy a free lunch provided by the
Friends of Haxby Road in the cafe on
Wed 13th Feb, 11.30- 1.00pm (not 11.00 as on the
letter!).
Children welcome.

Breakfast Club
After half term Breakfast Club must be booked on ParentPay. Please ensure you book your child a place at
least 48 hours in advance. This will allow us to order the correct quantity of food and to allow us to cater for children with allergies. Children should not attend breakfast club unless they have been booked on in advance. Please note that the cost is £2.50 per child, after half-term there will be no discount for siblings.

After School Club
After School Club is becoming very popular so please can you book your child a place 7 days in advance on
ParentPay. Fridays are especially busy so please book your child into the club well in advance. We will not be able to
book children on to After School Club on the day except in exceptional circumstances. Thank you.
Parent Hub
Thank you for downloading the new Parent Hub App, if you are having problems registering your mobile number then please pop in to the school office and they will help you.
