A message from the Head of School…

This term children from Year 1-Year 6 have been learning dance at after school club with Mrs Eddon and Miss Wilkinson. On Saturday 23^rd November the children performed their dance at the Yorkshire Dance Festival at York University. The festival lasts four days with around 1200 young dancers from primary schools, secondary schools, colleges and community dance groups across the region performing. Each school choreographed and performed a 5 minute dance piece in response to the theme, ‘Reflections’. Haxby Road performed an amazing routine to the song ‘Flashlights’. A huge thank you to Mrs Eddon and Miss Wilkinson for their effort and making sure this event went flawlessly! Well done to the children for behaving so well for the duration of the event and for their exceptional performance.

WINTER ART SHOW

This half term the children have been developing their art skills and knowledge. The children would really like to show you their art work. We think you will be really impressed!

On Wednesday 4^th December at 3:00pm the upper hall will be open for you to see the children’s art work. We will be providing hot chocolates and biscuits for you as a winter treat!

Year 5 and Year 6 parents are welcome to see the art work at 4:00pm in the upper hall.

We look forward to seeing our families there.

Wednesday 11^th December: Year 1-5 Christmas Carol Concert at St Thomas’ Church 1.30pm

Tuesday 17^th and Thursday 19^th December: Early Years Nativity Performance 9.45am in the upper hall.

Wednesday 18^th December: Santa’s Grotto and Reindeers. Please bring £3 if you would like your child to meet Father Christmas and see the reindeers.

Friday 20^th December: Christmas Jumper Day for Save the Children.

Friday 20^th December: 11:15am Christmas Assembly and Winner of Haxby’s Got Talent performance. School closes at 12 for Christmas.
