A message from the Head of School…
This week we have had York City Knights in school teaching the children basic rugby skills. The children absolutely loved this experience. We may have some potential rugby players for the future!
Year 3 and 5 have been exploring the York Food and Drink Festival this week. They learnt about a farm using virtual reality, how to milk a cow, made their very own pasta and bread and found out how chocolate was made, before making their own lollies!
We would like to say congratulations to Miss Gordon-Wylie who is expecting her first baby in February.
Children in Need – Thursday 14th November
This year the school has decided to take part in Children In Need.
Children in Need believes that every child in the UK should have a childhood which is:
- Happy and Secure
- The chance to reach their potential.
They provide grants to projects in the UK which focus on children and young people who are disadvantaged. We would like to help the charity raise more money.
On Thursday 14th November we will be asking the children to come dressed in spotty clothes with a donation of 50p. We will also be holding a bake sale in the lower hall.
If anyone has any exciting fundraising ideas please share them with the office staff.
4Family Community Cafe – Our 4 Family Community Café is now back open!
Every Monday and Tuesday the café will be open at 3.00pm until 4.15pm. The café is situated at the end of school, near the main car park. Everyone is welcome at the café.
The café provides our families with a chance to chill and relax in a friendly environment. We provide a range of hot drinks and food. There is a well-resourced play area for the children.
Please feel free to come to the café with your family.
