A message from the Head of School…
I cannot believe it is week 7 already! The children have been incredibly busy this half term learning all about Yorkshire and have taken part in a range of ‘ignition’ experiences to help support the development of their knowledge and skills. This week years 3, 4 and 5 went to Woodmeadow, just on the outskirts of York. They learnt a range of outdoor skills and even enjoyed roasted marshmallows!
I would just like to say thank you to all of our parents for ensuring the children arrive to school on time. When the children arrive on time, they are able to take part in our daily reading squad and do not miss out of their learning. As a school we place a strong emphasis on the importance of developing fluent readers.
SEN Weekend Sports Sessions
KEEN York provides free, weekly sports sessions for children with special educational needs or disabilities, and their siblings. This term they have several exciting sessions planned, including swimming and trampolining!
Sessions take place at the York university campus from 1-2pm on Sundays. For more information, contact KEEN at firstname.lastname@example.org or via their facebook page, KEEN York.
On Wednesday 23rd October Tiny Steps and Nursery are holding a bun sale. Please bring 25p if you would like your child to buy a bun or cake.
Please can you ensure that school uniform is all NAMED – particularly the red jumpers/cardigans. As you can imagine, with over 250 pupils, rehoming jumpers with no name in is an impossible task and we are gathering quite a collection around school.
Also, please can you remember to book breakfast club on ParentPay at least 48 hours in advance. Many thanks, The School Office.
