Haxby Road News 15.3.19

A message from the Head of School…
Thank you to everyone for supporting Red Nose Day and making generous donations. The children looked great in all red outfits and red noses! This week all the children across school have taken part in our new skipping for school project. A specialist teacher came in to teach the children how to skip and taught them a range of fun challenges. Even the teachers got involved! As a school, we will be promoting skipping at play times and lunch times. Skipping is a great way of boosting our children’s fitness levels and developing their self-esteem. It also promotes and teaches our children the life skills of perseverance and resilience. We will be purchasing new skipping ropes for the playground and inspiring the children to be active.

How Tax-Free Childcare can help working families
The government are currently promoting Tax Free Childcare to
families and parents, so please visit the Childcare Choices
website to find out if you could get Tax-Free Childcare. It is
available to over a million working families, including many who
don’t get other types of government support. The website
includes a childcare calculator which you can use to work out
how much you may receive. As with the 30 hours codes, once a
family has applied for Tax Free Childcare, parents must check
and reconfirm their details with HMRC every 3 months.
Reconfirmation is simple and quick to do. It is parents’
responsibility to reconfirm on time, although you will get a
reminder email from the childcare service.
Visit https://www.childcarechoices.gov.uk for more information.
