Smarties Challenge

Along with this letter, your child should have received a tube of Smarties from the Friends of Haxby Road, to say ‘well done’ for all their hard work this term! (If they can’t eat chocolate then they will have received some sweets instead.) Once they’ve enjoyed their treats, we invite them to do little jobs around the house – for you, your relatives, friends or neighbours – to earn 20p coins
which can then go back in the tube. Young children could tidy away toys, make their bed, or help clear the table after a meal. Older children could wash the car, do some gardening, wash up,
or do the laundry. Hopefully it’ll give you a chance to put your feet up too! They can do the jobs for anyone, it doesn’t have to be you – why not see if Grandma has something that needs doing? Please stay safe, and approach only those you know and trust. 1p, 5p and £1 coins should also fit in the tube – it doesn’t have to be 20p.
After half term, please bring your tube of money back to school by
Wednesday 7 November.
There will be a prize for the class who returns the most tubes. This might be a movie afternoon with popcorn, a class party, or a PJs day, depending on
the class! There will also be a prize for the child who does the most interesting job! We hope the money raised will go towards booking some reindeer to come to
our Christmas Fair on Friday 30 November!
