A message from the Head of School…
We hope all our families had a very enjoyable half term. The children have all come back to school ready to learn and eager to develop their knowledge and skills across the curriculum. Lots of
exciting events will be taking place over this half term so please make sure you look carefully at the ‘dates for your calendar.’ The children are so excited when members of their family come and
support their learning in school. Our KS2 cricket team competed in an annual cricket competition this week and made it to the semi-finals. This was a huge achievement and we are so proud of our young cricketers. Our KS1 children have been practising performing poetry based on their Author of the term, Giles Andreae, and his book ‘Rumble in the Jungle!’ Please see our school facebook for photographs of the children’s learning across school. Next Friday the children can come in non-uniform and bring a bottle for our Summer Fair.

Summer Reading Challenge
Once again the libraries in York would like to challenge the children at school to read six books over the summer holidays  from Saturday 13th July 2019 until Saturday 14th September. This year the Summer Reading Challenge is called Space Chase, in celebration of the 50th anniversary of the first Moon landing. As the children read the books they will collect a host of fantastic stickers and other exciting prizes from any of our Explore Libraries. If they read all six books, they will also receive a certificate and gold medal for their achievement.
