A message from the Head of School…
This week the school received a visit from the Ebor Executive Headteacher’s Gail Brown and Dave Barber. They came to look around the school and monitor teaching and learning. They were impressed with the children’s attitudes to learning and their behaviour in and around school. They said it was lovely to see how the school continues to grow.
This week Micklegate attended the York Schools Choral Festival. The event was held at the University of York and the children had a brilliant time singing and performing. Thank you to Mr Heath for arranging this event and to the Friends of Haxby Road for paying for the coach travel.

Easter Egg Competition
Easter is almost here and that means it’s time for our annual Easter Egg Decorating Competition. To take part you will need to boil an egg, decorate it in any way you like and bring it in to the school on Wednesday 10th of April clearly labelled with your name. Entries will be judged on Thursday 11th April and the winners announced on
Friday 12th April in the whole school assembly. Easter Eggs as prizes!
Attendance Easter Egg Hunt
This is a reminder that our attendance prize for this half term is an egg-citing Easter egg hunt. Children with 97% attendance or above will be invited to the hunt during school time. They also need no more than 3 lates to be included in this reward. The attendance figures will be printed off on Thursday 11th April and a letter will be given to all children who have managed our attendance target. Good Luck!
Car Park Safety
Following an incident that occurred this morning, please can I remind all parents that they should not be using the school car park to drop/pick up their children. This is a particularly busy time for school as we have a taxi service for all our ERP children who attend the school. Thank you for your cooperation in this matter, it will only help ensure we keep our children and families safe.
