A message from the Head of School…

The children have been working extremely hard this week and learning all about their author of the term. Year 1 and Year 2 are reading stories by the author Jeanne Willis. They really enjoyed listening to The Bog Baby.

It was lovely to see the new parents at the welcome morning and afternoon. Thank you to all the parents who have donated cakes for café. They were delicious! Thank you to all the parents who organised the event. We really appreciate your support.

I would just like to say a huge thank you to all our parents for entering the ‘conker zone’ and taking care. You can tell that the autumn weather is here! Once again we ask parents and children to take care when walking near the trees.

Attendance Movie Night Thursday 25.10.18

This half term we are launching our attendance prize. Any children from Tuesday 4th September until Wednesday the 24.th October with an attendance figure of 97% and no more than 3 lates will be invited to the movie night. Please see the attendance display at the front of school to see if your child is on track. If you need any support with attendance please see Ms Martin or Miss Woodward. We are always here to help.

Science

This week Miss Whitaker enjoyed watching Year 5 take part in a ‘Wow’ science experiment. The children were eager to explain their thinking and learning. What an exciting way to start the new term! Recently Miss Whitaker has attended high quality training at the National STEM learning centre and has some fabulous opportunities planned for the children this year. Watch out for our Science challenge which will be back in the office next week. It won’t just be the children that need their thinking caps because parents will be invited to take part in the challenges too!

After School Club

After School Club has become increasingly popular and as a result we need to ensure all children are booked on parent pay 48 hours in advance. This will enable us to provide the correct staffing to ensure all children can attend. Please book on parent pay and tick the days you require. Thank you for your support.
